Andrés Felipe Echavarría Ramírez

Andrés Felipe Echavarría Ramírez is the Director of the Library System at the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Bogotá, Colombia, where he leads the Biblioteca General Alfonso Borrero Cabal, S.J. He is a librarian and holds a Master’s degree in Information Technology and Telecommunications Management. Andrés has spent more than two decades catalyzing the evolution of academic libraries and information systems, leading transformation processes at institutions including Universidad de Bogotá Jorge Tadeo Lozano, Universidad Icesi, and now Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, which he has helped position as one of the most innovative library systems in Ibero-America. He is a founding partner of Campus Atípico, an intergenerational innovation school, and co-founder of Uanna Lab. In 2023, he was invited by the Vatican Apostolic Library, alongside representatives from 23 institutions worldwide, to reflect on the future of libraries and their role in transforming society. He also teaches at the university level.
