Getting There
Flying to London
If you choose to fly to London for your visit, there are two major international airports in the London area: Heathrow International & Gatwick international airport.
Luton Airport and Stanstead Airport are also airports with direct flights into London
Heathrow International Airport
Heathrow International Airport is approximately 19 miles west of the University of London campus. Heathrow is easily accessible from our campus by public transportation, car, shuttle, and taxi.
Gatwick International Airport
Gatwick International Airport is approximately 32 miles south of the University of London and is also accessible from our campus by public transportation, shuttle, car, and taxi.
Getting to and from the airports to University of London
Public Transit From Heathrow Airport Terminal 2 & 3
Train: runs hourly and costs around $6-15 USD. The Elizabeth-London Paddington Line will take you to Tottenham Court Rd which is a short 10-minute walk to the University of London. Travel time on the Train is about 45 minutes.
Subway: Runs about every 10-15 minutes and costs around $3-10 USD. The London Underground (Tube) Piccadilly will take you to Russell Square Underground Station which is a short 5-minute walk from the University of London. Travel time on the Bus is about 1 hour.

London Gatwick Airport Train Terminal
Train and Bus Travel: may require a transfer. Train and Bus run every 10 minutes and cost around $20-40 USD depending on just the Train or Train and Bus. Your travel will start at the Gatwick Airport Train Terminal on the Thameslink Purple Line towards London St Pancras International LI. This station is a 20-minute walk from the Senate House, or you can take a bus transfer and have a short 2-minute walk.
If you decide on the Bus Transfer you will have about a 10–15-minute transfer to the London Buses orange Bus line #1 towards Canada Water. You will get off the bus at the Southhampton Row Stop (B) and have a short walk.

Luton Airport
Train: Take a shuttle bus from Luton Airport to Luton Airport Parkway station (10 minutes). From there, catch a direct Thameslink train to London St Pancras International (about 35-45 minutes). Senate House is a 15-minute walk from St Pancras or a short taxi ride.
Bus: National Express and Green Line coaches run from Luton Airport to London Victoria Coach Station (around 1.5 hours). From Victoria, it’s a 20-minute tube ride to Russell Square, a 5-minute walk to Senate House.
Stansted Airport
Train: The Stansted Express train runs every 15 minutes from the airport to London Liverpool Street Station (about 45 minutes). From Liverpool Street, take the Central Line to Tottenham Court Road, just a 10-minute walk to Senate House.
Bus: National Express coaches operate to London Victoria Coach Station (around 1.5 to 2 hours). From Victoria, take the tube or a taxi to Senate House.
Driving from Heathrow Airport: From Heathrow Airport, follow E Ramp and Nene Rd to Bath Rd/A4. Take M4 to Gunnersbury Ln/A4000 in London. Follow A4000 to Western Ave/A40 in Acton. Continue on A40 to Euston Rd. Take A400 exit to A501. Take Gower St to Keppel St to Malet St.

- Terminal 2 – Ground floor outside of the arrival hall, opposite bus stop 12.
- Terminal 3 – Adjacent to Cromer Road West, next to bus stops 16-22.
- Terminal 4 – Located outside arrivals between the travel/help information point and Costa.
- Terminal 5 – Outside arrivals hall, opposite bus stops 10-12.

Please bear in mind that at very busy times you may have to wait a while for a taxi, to avoid disappointment we recommend using one of the many taxi companies at the top of this page. By pre-booking, you may also save money!
- North Terminal – Arrivals ground floor, take the exit to long term car parks, near the lifts and special assistance help point.
- South Terminal – Arrivals level 2, take the exit to long and short stay car parks, just past cash machines and Moneycorp Bureau De Change.
